What’s not to love about that?Gymnastics is the most watched sport at the Olympic Games. Although this should come as no surprise, as it is truly remarkable that highly skilled gymnasts can perform at their peak over a 10 day competition so consistently. It is also the sport that ranks a No. 1 for bloopers replays; when things go tragically wrong. Landings that have been rehearsed thousands of times aren’t held long enough to meet the judges requirements, a gymnast slips on the beam or a hand is released a 1/100 of a second too soon and the regrip on a high bar becomes a journey through the air that was not meant to occur. Why is Gymnastics Such a Compelling Spectator Sport?
4. We cheer for our nations, then our next favourite teams, the most beautiful, the strongest, the best looking, the show off or the underdog. 5. Most people know enough about Gymnastics as a sport to understand how hard each gymnast has trained to compete at Olympic level. Many people try gymnastics as children, but move to other sports as they get older. Those who stick with it, are presented with a wide range of job opportunities: - Coaching juniors - Acrobatic performances Stage shows and musicals - The Circus – especially Cirque Du Soleil - Contemporary dance and aerobics - Gymnastics, Diving and Trampolining competitions. Holiday Gymnastics ProgramAlthough this tough, difficult sport seems out of reach for most of us; at Gymnastrix we decided it is really important to make it accessible to as many children as we possibly could. We offer programs to schools, we conduct special events and sports days and we have even tailor-made a program for Vacation Care Programs and Out of School Hours Care (OOSH) centres. You see we know why you don’t attempt to conduct this complex sport yourself. In your place, we wouldn’t either. You see you need the right equipment, the right people and the right program to make it happen safely. Our kit of gymnastics equipment is very special. It is “Kid-Friendly”, brightly coloured, fun and guaranteed to ensure that all those who are lucky enough to get to use it smile and laugh while they are learning heaps. The more they learn and get better, the more fun they have. Often the most surprised about their gymnastics day are the kids themselves. It takes a long time to train great coaches. Some great gymnasts are terrible coaches. Some great teachers are great coaches and often we take students who are studying teaching and work with them as they learn to teach. By the time they get to your holiday program, they have coached thousands of kids on our specialised equipment, using our unique programs. We do all the technical stuff too, Working With Children Checks, Gymnastics Coaching Accreditation and keep them up to date with professional development programs. In this way you know that we take the technical, difficult, awe inspiring sport of gymnastics and make it kid-safe and kid-friendly. When you add a gymnastics program to your holiday centre’s timetable of activities, your children spend more time doing gymnastics because we come to you, eliminating travel costs and time. |
